Keynote Speaker! Cathy Sullivan!

Cathy Sullivan, owner of Annie’s Orchids is passionate about orchids. Within her first three years of growing Cathy had already seen several of her plants awarded by the AOS and continues to be the recipient of awards in years since. Her plants garner ribbons, plaques and trophies when exhibited at orchid shows. Cathy's Mtssa. Dark Star 'Darth Vader' won the coveted American Orchid Society Milton Carpenter Award in 2007. Cathy hosts a private orchid collection of more than five hundred plants.

Cathy is a member of the Deep Cut Orchid Society and is affiliated with the American Orchid Society’s Northeast Judging Center in Elmsford, NY. She has traveled extensively in the U.S. and South America to judge orchid shows and further her knowledge of orchids. Cathy’s articles have been published in newspapers in the U.S. and Ecuador, and in the American Orchid Society’s Orchids magazine. Cathy is also a guest lecturer and works as an event florist for weddings and corporate events.

Married to John L. Sullivan for 38 years, Cathy and John are proud parents to eleven children ranging in age from eight to thirty five. Annie’s Orchids is named after their youngest child who can often be found alongside Mom in the greenhouse. The main greenhouse with 1700 square feet of growing space is located on the Sullivan’s 80 acre homestead in the beautiful mountains of northeast Pennsylvania.
